PITTSFIELD – Stephen Weymouth, 67, died peacefully Monday, July 7, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 28, 1941, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Robert and Arlene (Preble) Weymouth. Stephen was educated in Dover-Foxcroft schools and graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1959. He married Jackie Evans and together they raised two children. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He was employed by the paper mill industry and retired as a pulp mill manager for Sappi Paper Co. He traveled globally for the company and especially enjoyed his trips to South Africa and Europe. Stephen was a member of Elks Club, Pittsfield, and J.W. Parks Golf Club, Pittsfield. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, bowling, tennis and especially golf. He loved to spend time at his home on Sebec Lake and enjoyed many days at Prescot Hotel. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jackie Weymouth of Pittsfield; his son, Michael Weymouth and wife, Cindy and their daughter, Zoe, of Oakland and Michael’s daughter, Aryn Weymouth, of Winslow; his daughter, Lana Ballard and husband, Bob and their children, Bobby and Nicole, of Palmyra; his father, Robert Weymouth of Dover-Foxcroft; his brothers, Michael Weymouth and wife, Peggy, of Hingham, Mass., and Rob Weymouth of Dover-Foxcroft; his sister, Susan Small and husband, Buzz, of Sebec; his brother, Peter Weymouth and wife, Karen, of Scarborough; his sisters-in-law, Dale Boyd and Barbara Boyleston, both of North Augusta, S.C.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Arlene Weymouth. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 11, at First Baptist Church, 245 Main St., Pittsfield, with Dr. Wilson Hickam and Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Interment will be private.
