MILBRIDGE – Sylvia L. (Tibbetts) Strout, 89, went to be with the angels, March 17, 2008, surrounded by her family, after a long and happy life. She was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Milbridge, the daughter of the late Walter and Lozina (Lindsey) Tibbetts. Sylvia was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed the ocean and the time she spent with her husband summering at Pigeon Hill. She was a skilled seamstress and knitter. Above all, Sylvia adored her family and loved the time she spent with them at holidays and family gatherings. She is survived by her daughters, Josie Colewell of Milbridge, and Lozina Wilbur and husband, Charles, of Sullivan; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Strout, in 1998; infant daughter, Josie Alberta Strout; daughter, Alice Crandon; son, Allan Strout; four sisters; two brothers; and two sons-in-law, Byron Colewell and Joseph Crandon. Visiting will be held noon-1 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. officiated by Pastor Owen Beal.
