BANGOR – Terry Y. Hopkins, 57, died unexpectedly May 15, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 21, 1948, in Bangor, the daughter of Melvin H. and Christine Marie (Miner) Maidlow. Terry graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1966. She worked at Bangor Optical for more than 17 years. Terry was highly devoted to her family. Her family was her life and she was an extremely generous and patient person. She adored her grandchildren and her life revolved around them. Terry will be sadly missed and remembered as a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Brent Hopkins and wife, Jeannie, of Brewer; two daughters, Wendy Ashworth and husband, Chris, of Virginia, Marcy Vidal and husband, Wayne, of Bangor; two brothers, Rick Maidlow and wife, Debbie, of Bangor, Mark Maidlow and wife, Rachel, of Bangor; two sisters, Marlene O’Reilly and husband, Tim, of Scarborough, Kathy Mcleod and husband, Tim, of Bangor; a dear “sister,” Carol McKenna and husband, Brian, of Boothbay Harbor; a dear aunt, Dee Curran and husband, Charlie, of Bangor; seven grandchildren, Zachary, Elijah, Christopher John, Tristan, Hannah, Nathan and Morgan; nieces, Caitlyn, Mariah, Christine, Allison; and several other nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her father, Mel; and fiance, Ed Rankin. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Private interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
