KETCHUM, Idaho, and MONSON – Theresa (Casey) Higdon, 60, died Feb. 18, 2005, at her daughter’s home in Maui, Hawaii. She was born June 10, 1944, in Far Rockaway, N.Y., the daughter of Dennis and Alice Casey. She graduated from Monson Academy in 1962. She was predeceased by her father, Dennis Casey; and her husband, Billy Higdon. Terri is survived by her daughter, Kylie, and son-in-law, Tai Carpenter, of Maui; by her mother, Alice Casey; and her brother, Tom Casey, both of Bar Harbor; her brother, Bill, of Seattle, Wash.; and her sisters, Denise Rocca, of Pittsfield, Mass., and Patricia Deno, of Stephentown, N.Y. Terri will be missed by her family and friends, and will be remembered for her unending zest and adventure for life. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. After visiting and skiing the Sun Valley slopes for years, Terri and Billy finally became permanent residents in 1976 and established the Higdon Construction, Excavation and Snow Removal business. Terri and Billy also started the business Patio Pleasers in 1990, which once occupied the corner that is now the home of the Higdon Building in Leadville, Idaho. When she wasn’t hard at work, Terri was playing and traveling. She loved being in the outdoors and could often be found fly fishing along the Big Wood River and its tributaries around her home in Ketchum, Idaho. Terri’s interests were varied; they also included tennis, golf, hiking, lake kayaking, sailing, and snow shoeing. Terri had a deep impact on the people and landscape in Ketchum, from digging foundations for the buildings in the mountain community to forming solid friendships among the people who live there. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005, in Ketchum, Idaho, at a location to be announced.
