WOODLAND – Thomas Carl Donovan, 55, died unexpectedly Jan. 24, 2004, at Caribou. He was born Oct. 24, 1948, in Caribou, the son of Carl and Myrtle (Pelletier) Donovan. Tom was a 1967 graduate of Caribou High School and served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Lane Construction Co. for more than 26 years and this winter was working for the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department as a snowmobile trail groomer operator. Tom was an avid snowmobiler and was a member of the Nordic Lakers snowmobile club. He was a member of the Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 VFW, the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion as well as the I.U.O.E. Local No. 4. He married Virginia Thomas Donovan on April 27, 1973. Surviving in addition to his wife, Ginny of Woodland are his son, Brian Donovan and his special friend, Nichole Ricci, of Raymond, N.H.; one brother, Randy Donovan and his wife, June, of Dawson Springs, Ky.; one sister, Jeanne Norsworthy and her husband, Larry, of Caribou; nieces, Norma Levesque, Heather Thomas and Brandi Donovan; and nephews, Adam, Jeremy, and Isaac Thomas, Christopher Donovan and Tim Norsworthy. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with the Rev. David Raymond officiating.
