CONROY HAMPDEN – Thomas Manchester Conroy, 48, passed away June 17, 2006, at a Bangor hospital from complications from pneumonia. Tom was born Oct. 16, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Thomas M. and Marianne (Manchester) Conroy. He attended Boardman High School, Ohio State University and the Chicago Culinary Institute. He was a humanitarian and a well-known chef. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2003, by the Junior League of Bangor for his work with the Telecare program. He was a creative gentle spirit who was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Houston of Hampden; his sister, Alexa Collins of Blue Hill, Barbara’s extended family and many other loving family members. At his request no service will be held. Memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 B Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements by Foley Funeral Service, Bangor.
