ASTORIA, Ore. – Timothy Paul Hatt, 37, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, in Machias. He was born Feb. 4, 1969, to the Rev. Paul A. Hatt and Breadasue McCabe in Machias. His father preceded him in death March 3, 1995. His mother survives, residing in Warrenton, Ore. Mr. Hatt was a self-employed general contractor. He had recently gone to Louisiana with Hands and Feet Downeast to help rebuild homes. He was also working with Contemporary Outreach. Family members said he will be remembered for his large smile, hearty laugh, big trucks and strong work ethic. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Jade E. Hatt of Albany, Ore. and Sophia J. Hatt of Knappa, Ore.; a sister, Tracielynn Raterman of Seaside, Ore.; a brother, Lanny C. Hatt of Seaside, Ore.; a grandfather, Clinton Harris of Mechanic Falls; and a grandmother, Rosamond Hatt of Winslow. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Machias Valley Baptist Church.
