PRESQUE ISLE – Udell S.R. White, 94, died Dec. 3, 2003, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 27, 1908, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Charles A.D. and Marion (Davenport) Redmond. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School in Lynn, Mass., Class of 1925, and graduated from Bradford Academy College in 1928. She attended Smith College and graduated from Northeastern School of Law in 1939. Mrs. White practiced probate and tax law at Hale and Dorr Law Firm in Boston, Mass. She was a lecturer and photographer and a world traveler. She worked as a fundraiser for her colleges. She was a member of the College Club of Beverly, Mass., and of the Camera Club of Lynn, Mass. Mrs. White was very active in the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science in Boston, and the Boston Symphony. She was also active in Spar and Spindle Girl Scouts of Danvers, Mass., Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, YMCA in Manchester, N.H., and Library business in Dunbarton, N.H. Mrs. White resided in Boston, Mass., Berverly Farms, Mass., Goffstown, N.H., Concord, N.H., and Presque Isle. Surviving her are her nieces, Sheila (Mailey) Putnam of Houlton, Barbara Mailey of Hamilton, Mass.; two nephews, Richard H. Mailey Jr. of Greenville Junction, and Jeffrey D. Mailey of Honeybrook, Pa.; 10 great-nieces and nephews, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. She leaves many friends in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Florida. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth (Redmond Mailey Gay. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn, Mass.
