ST. AGATHA – Valere J. Chamberland, 86, died Nov. 12, 2003, at a Frenchville nursing home. He was born in St. Agatha, Sept. 12, 1917, the son of Joseph B. and Annie (Albert) Chamberland. He was a retired potato farmer. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Gagnon) Chamberland of St. Agatha; four sons, Carl and his wife, Eileen, of Augusta, James and his wife, Gisele, Rodney and his wife, Judy, all of St. Agatha, Ray and his wife, Linda, of Ellington, Conn.; two daughters, Carmen and her husband, Clayton Martin of Terryville, Conn., Rinette and her husband, Maurice Deschaine of Bristol, Conn.; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother, Clifford of St. Agatha; two sisters, Sr. Doria Chamberland of New York, Angela and her husband, John Houghton, of Manchester, N.H.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Rella Ouellette; and three brothers, Alyre, Gerald and Jerome. Friends and relatives may call at the Michaud Funeral Home in St. Agatha, 6-9 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Agatha Catholic Church, with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Burial will be in the St. Agatha Lower Cemetery. For those who desire, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Nursing Home. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
