VERNA K. TREFFERY MARS HILL – Verna K. Treffery, 65, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 16, 1939, at Presque Isle, the daughter of Thomas and Lena (Brayall) Markey. She loved cats and enjoyed listening to fireman Fred sing at the mall in Presque Isle. She is survived by a son, Steven Griffin and his wife, Sherry, of Presque Isle; a grandson, Thomas Griffin; a granddaughter, Hillary Rae Griffin; a great-granddaughter, Shaelyn; a sister, Phoebe Hansen of Dover, N.H.; and a nephew, David Hansen of Cumberland, R.I. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle, with Pastor Robert Mason officiating. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
