SURRY – Vincent E. Williams, 70, after a long courageous battle with cancer went home to be with his Lord and Savior while sur-rounded by his loving family, Feb. 23, 2008. He was born April 12, 1937, in Ellsworth, the son of William Wesley and Beu-lah Amanda (Frost) Williams. He served in the U.S. Army as a SP-2 from 1955 to 1958. He lived in Surry and was a caretaker for a private residence for a number of years. Vincent enjoyed camping and reading mysteries. He found pleasure in flower gardening and feeding the birds. He was a member of Ellsworth Assembly of God. Vincent is survived by his wife, Geraldine “Ginger” (Wes-cott) Williams; two sons, Brian E. Williams and wife, Lisa, and Keith V. Williams and wife, Jennifer, all of Surry; a bro-ther, Arthur Williams of New Hampshire; two sisters, Marie Hendrickson of Friendship and Gloria Hart and husband, Wes-ley, of East Holden; four grand-children, Christopher, Nicholas, Zackary and Kayla. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Williams; and a sister, Joan Allen. His family would like to extend special thanks to Dawn Lord and the Oncology Group at Blue Hill Family Medicine and to Jeff Hansen, a special friend of Vincent’s. Friends are invited to call 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. A celebration of Vincent’s life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Ells-worth Assembly of God, 131 Beechland Road, Ellsworth. Spring interment will be at North Bend Cemetery, Surry.
