ASHLAND – Virginia B. Jimmo, 89, died April 29, 2006, at a Caribou healthcare facility. She was born May 16, 1916, in Ashland, the oldest child of Peter and Laura (Carney) Jimmo. She married at a young age and bore six children of which two survived her. Mrs. Jimmo worked for a time as a cook at the Ashland Central School. She loved knitting and crocheting and only had to look at an article or pattern once and could readily copy the work. She was also well known for famous molasses cookies, which she baked and gave to her many relatives and friends. Virginia is survived by one son, Floyd Jimmo and his wife, Doris, of Pooler, Ga.; one daughter, Joyce Dube and her husband, Alfred, of Ashland; one brother, Paul Beaulieu of South Windsor, Conn.; three sisters, Salina O’Clair of Ashland, Vena Sutherland of Durham, Conn. and Middie Sutherland of Middlefield, Conn.; a godchild, Bonnie Coke of Homosassa, Fla.; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hector Jimmo in 1970; two brothers, Chester and Maxime Beaulieu; and by a sister, Hilda Morin. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the St. Mark Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashland, with Fr. Jean Paul Labrie, celebrant. Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery.
