LIMESTONE – Virginia M. (Deane) Thornton, 52, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at a Caribou nursing facility, following a long illness. She was born May 13, 1951, at Caribou, the daughter of Wilfred J. Sr. and Jean Mary (LeFrancois) Deane. Virginia was a member of Limestone High School, Class of 1969 and won the title of Miss Limestone that same year. She attended Pierre’s School of Cosmetology, Lewiston and moved to New York in 1975, where she was employed in the real estate and insurance fields. She returned to Maine in March of 2000. Virginia enjoyed gardening and was a communicant o the St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone. She was predeceased by one son, Travis J. Rossignol on May 14, 1989 and is survived by one daughter, Sonya-Jo Rossignol Keling and her husband, Aaron of Mechanicville, N.Y.; her parents, Wilfred J. Sr. and Jean Deane of Limestone; one brother, Wilfred Deane Jr. and his wife, Teresa of Raymond; one sister, Sharon Ann Rozier and her husband, Randy, of Bedford, Texas; one grandchild, Chandler James Keling of Mechanicville, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a Vigil service will be conducted by the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday May 15, 2004, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Main Street, Limestone, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Private interment services will be conducted at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone, at a later date. Virginia’s family invites family and friends to join in a time of fellowship and refreshments at the St. Louis Catholic Church reception area immediately following the Funeral Mass. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
