BANGOR – Virginia (Read) Boyd, 94, wife of the late Harvey K. Boyd, died July 22, 2006, at a local healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 18, 1911, in Lincoln, the daughter of Albert and Nellie (Fox) Read. Virginia graduated from Bangor High School and Beal Business School and was employed by Merrill Trust Co. for many years. She is survived by a good friend, Sandra Winchenbach of Bucksport. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Inez Boyd. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. Tuesday until time of the service. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
