NEWPORT – Virginia Thibault, 85, of Pineview Apartments, died Oct. 14, 2006, at a Hartland nursing home. She was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Cambridge, Mass., a daughter of Adrian and Mary (Benoit) Desillier. On Jan. 9, 1943, she married Albert “Jerry” Thibault. He predeceased her April 10, 1991. She had been employed as a practical nurse in a mental health institution; Chandler’s Nursing Home, Pittsfield; co-managed the Newport Inn with her husband; and worked at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport. Virginia was a member of the Newport Women’s Club and worked diligently with the Friends of the Newport Library. She is survived by one son and his wife, Albert “Bert” Jr. and Anne Thibault of St. Albans; two daughters, Carol Thibault of Newport and Mary and husband, Joseph Maione, of North Attleboro, Mass.; a niece raised by Jerry and Virginia, Victoria Morrison of Georgia; two brothers, Arthur Desillier of Florida and Adrian Desillier Jr. of Ellingham, Mass.; two sisters, Rose Ann Knowles of Florida and Blanche Pecci of Georgia; three grandchildren, Erin Brousseau and Joey Maione, both of North Attleboro, Mass., and Nicholas Thibault of St. Albans; and one great-grandson, Adam Brousseau.
