WINTERPORT and MADISON – Vitalia “Vi” Uhrin passed away peacefully Sept. 3, 2006, at a Bangor health care facility. Vitalia was born Jan. 21, 1938, in New York City, the daughter of Jack and Aldona Woods. Vitalia or “Vi” as many called her spent much of her life living in New York City before moving to Maine. Vi enjoyed playing bingo, as well as attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Vitalia is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Joseph Uhrin of Winterport; one son, Michael Uhrin and his wife, Tammy, of Hancock; two daughters, Lisa-Ann Uhrin, Laurie-Ann Uhrin and David Pinkham, all of Winterport; four grandchildren, “J.” Uhrin, Rodney Murray and Eric Murray, all of Winterport and Devin Sprague of Ellsworth; as well as one sister, Helen Uhrin of New York City. Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
