COLUMBIA FALLS – Walter A. Tenney, 77, went home to be with his Lord, Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at his home in Columbia Falls, after a one-year battle with cancer. He was born March 17, 1928, in Columbia Falls, the son of Alton and Josie (Bagley) Tenney. Walter graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1946. He worked cutting pulp wood and as a laborer and grader in area lumber mills. He was a former member of the Union Grange and a former member of the volunteer fire department. He enjoyed wood-working, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. A devoted father and husband, Walter faithfully and lovingly cared for Isabelle, his wife, during her long illness. Walter is survived by three sons, Dale Tenney of Columbia Falls, David Tenney and his wife, Jessie, of Lancaster, Pa. and Paul Tenney of Machias; a brother, Lawrence Tenney and his wife, Marilyn, of Roque Bluffs; a brother-in-law, Leander Wass and his wife, Clara, of Addison; a step-grand-daughter, Heather Botchlet and her husband, Brad; a great-stepgrandson, Seth Botchlet, all of Strasburg, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be remembered by special friends, Lissa and Paul Mutty of Addison. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Isabella (Wass) Tenney; and a brother, Lee Tenney. Friends are invited to visit with the family 10-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias. Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Ingersoll Cemetery, Centerville, with Pastor Jeremy Towne officiating.
