EDDINGTON – Walter H. Morang III passed from this world to the next Thursday, July 5, 2007, after a long illness. He was born Sept. 5, 1963, in Norfolk, Va., the son of Walter and Lydia (Carter) Morang. He attended schools in Eliot, Ellsworth and graduated from Bangor High. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and after completing basic training, he served in Korea. Upon returning state side, he attended Parachute School and served with the 82nd Airborne. He had been accepted into Ranger School and planned to make the army his career. Those plans were sadly interrupted by illness. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had joined a dojo and spent many hours practicing Akido, a discipline he loved. He also loved his family and friends, and was dearly loved in return. He will be sadly missed by all. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jennifer (Webber) Morang; his son Travis Webber, a member of the New Hampshire National Guard currently stationed in Iraq; a brother, Stephen Morang; a sister, Carole Blake-man; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws; and his parents, Walter and Lydia Morang. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Rex Garrett officiating. A committal service with military honors will be after at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hermon.
