BLAINE – Walter Morrison Jr. 73, went home to be with his Lord, Wed-nesday, Jan. 14, 2004. He was born Aug. 2, 1930 in Chester, Pa., the son of Walter Sr. and Alice Morrison. Walter served 21 years in the military, in both the Korean and the Vietnam Wars. He was very active in the Elks, President of the Presque Isle Lodge four times, Past District Deputy, State President, Chairman for State in the Elks National Foundation. Walter was a member of the Blaine First Free Baptist Church as well as the VFW in Maryland. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of Blaine; a stepson, Rick Larrabee of Blaine; two daughters, Anne and Lucy Morrison, both of Maryland; a brother, Robert, of Chester, Pa.; three sisters, Joyce Burthchel and her husband, Frank, of Maryland, Grace Cofta of Pennsylvania, Dot Michen-selder and her husband, Mitch, of Pennsylvania; stepgrandson, Brian Michaud of Fort Bragg, N.C. He will also be sadly missed by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Bill and Anna Larrabee of Blaine and Ken and Alice Dempster of Caribou. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Haines, Woody, and Louis. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Blaine First Free Baptist Church with the Rev. Gardner Smith officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou.
