WAYNE E. WOOD TOPSHAM – Wayne E. Wood, 68, of Blueberry Lane, died Friday, May 7, 2004. He was born Jan. 2, 1936, in Presque Isle, a son of Philip G. and Ruby Wilcox Wood. He graduated from Presque Isle High School and attended Ricker Classical Institute. After a career in the U.S. Navy, he was employed at the Office of Superintendent of Shipbuilding at Bath Iron Works for 16 years, retiring in 1997. He married Mary H. Gray in Bowdoin in March 1981. Mr. Wood was a member of several Masonic bodies and Kora Temple Shrine. He is survived by his wife of Topsham; four sons, Bruce Wood and Mark Wood, both of Brewer, David Wood of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Arthur Gray Jr. of Ellsworth; three daughters, Rhonda Bagley and Susan Jordan, both of Presque Isle, and Cynthia Taylor of Beaverton, Ore.; a brother, Dwinal Wood of Augusta; two sisters, Judy Kennard of Chatsworth, Ga., and Patricia Azzarello of Presque Isle; and eight grandchildren. At his request there will not be a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to their favorite charity. Arrangements are under the care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
