WEIKKO HAAPANEN ENTERPRISE, Ala. – Mr. Weikko Haapanen, 82, of Enterprise, Ala., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at the family residence in Enterprise. Mr. Haapanen was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Haapanen; and a son, Jon Weikko Haapanen. Surviving are his wife, Shirley S. Haapanen of Enterprise, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laurel H. and Rene Lopez of Bath, Liisa V. and James Janelle of Enfield, N.H.; three grandsons, David J. Janelle of Enfield, N.H., Andre R. Lopez and Adrian M. Lopez of Bath; one granddaughter, Katja B. Janelle of Enfield, N.H.; two sisters, Hannah H. Mackay of Lake Worth, Fla., Olga H. Cary of Hudson; one brother, Sulo A. Haapanen of Pomona, Calif.; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, in Searcy Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Hughes, Sam Eubanks and Lawrence Eubanks officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Enterprise Christian Mission, 481 Geneva Highway, Enterprise, AL 36330.
