PRESQUE ISLE – Wilfred A. Crouse, 94, died Nov. 11, 2005, at a local healthcare facility. He was born Sept. 18, 1911, in Crouseville, the son of Ransford and Lucia (Wyeth) Crouse. He spent most of his life in research and development of machinery for manufacturing. Wilfred spent several years in research at MIT. He is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Anita Mae and Bernard LaCourse of Westford, Mass., Jean M. and Galen Eastman of Exeter, Patricia and David Paro of Bowling Green, Ky. and Carol and Michael Elliott of Wallace, Kan.; a brother, Robert Crouse and his wife, Lois, of Yurlington, Nev.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him were his three wives, Ruth Christianson Crouse, Ann Martin Crouse and Edna Hanson Vance Crouse; infant daughter, Wilma Ruth Crouse; brothers, Merle and Dayton Crouse and a sister, Doris Cunningham. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Donald Morton officiating. Refreshments will follow in the gathering area of the funeral home. Interment will be at Johnson Cemetery in Presque Isle.
