WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn.- Velma M. Bradstreet, 92, of Windsor Locks, entered into eternal rest Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Saint Francis Hospital. Born Nov. 13, 1913, in Bridgewater, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Franklin and Margaret (Howard) Bradstreet. Velma resided in Windsor Locks for 39 years and was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, East Windsor. Velma graduated from Westboro Nursing School in Boston, Mass. Miss Bradstreet was a (retired) major veteran of U.S. Air Force. She served as a nurse on the front lines during World War II. Velma will be sadly missed by her loving family. A loving sister and aunt, Velma is survived by a brother, Kenneth Tidd of Houlton; and a sister; Gladys Stitham of Windsor Locks; she also leaves several nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Edna Kelsey. Velma was predeceased by two brothers, Gus and Frank Bradstreet. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, Conn. Velma’s family will receive relatives and friends during visitation hour from 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Bridgewater, Maine.
