FORT KENT – Wilfred J. Pelletier, 87, died peacefully May 27, 2005, at a Fort Kent nursing care facility. He was born Sept. 8, 1917, in St. Francis, the son of Raymond and Zelda (Thibodeau) Pelletier. Wilfred worked for 32 years at A & P grocery stores from Fort Kent to Bangor. He was a past commander of the American Legion, Post Martin-Kein No. 133 in Fort Kent. He is survived by one son, Ray Pelletier of Bristol, Conn.; three daughters, Patsy and her husband, Fernando Harvey Jr., of St. Francis, Peggy Puiia-Whitney and her husband, Kevin Whitney, of Hudson, and Sandra and her husband, Stephen Simon, of Hermon; three sisters, Cora Roy of Bristol, Conn., Evelyn Plourde of Fort Kent, and Lillian Keaton of Caribou; his beloved grandchildren, Sandra Pelletier of Florida, Marc Pelletier of Ohio, Scott Harvey of Connecticut, Laurie Pelletier, Shawn Puiia, and Shane Puiia, all of Maine; one great-granddaughter, Jordan Pelletier of Florida; one great-grandson, Parker Pettengill; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lenora Michaud in 2000; one son, Kenneth in 1987; two brothers, Lawrence and Wilmer Pelletier; two sisters, Odile Jandreau and Dora Ouellette. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent , and 8 a.m. Monday until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial with full military honors will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
