NORTH PORT, Fla. – William “Bill” Henry Everett, 83, passed away May 15, 2004, at Fawcett Me-morial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Fla. He moved to North Port in October of 2003 from Barrington, N.H. He was born Nov. 11, 1920, in Fort Fairfield, to Edward E. Everett and Minnie M. (Giberson) Everett. He graduated from FFHS, the Class of 1939, and was on the baseball team and played shortstop. He was a World War II Army Veteran, having fought five major battles and was presented with the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European African Middle Western Theater Campaign Ribbon, Bronze Star Medal GO 157 Hq XIX Corps 45 and Honorable Discharge. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, member of Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187 VFW and FF Alumni Association in Fort Fairfield. He worked for the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad in the late 1930s, Reed Brothers, MCLocke Distribution Co., JR Chinchette Construction and was retired from Maine Potato Service in Presque Isle. William is survived by his children, daughters, Diane E. (Paul) St. Pierre and Connie M. McBurnie of North Port, Fla.; son, Kenneth E. Everett of Somersworth, N.H.; special friends, Pearl M. Everett of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, and Viola Everett of Presque Isle; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren including his special “little blossom,” Abigail Lynn Ward. He is also survived by special niece, Darlene and her husband, Charles “Bucky” Bruce, of Rockland; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Samuel Everett; sisters, Margaret Everett and Nellie Michaud. He was the last living relative for his family. Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Fairfield.
