WINSLOW and MILLINOCKET – William E. “Bill” Reed, 49, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 26, 2004. He was born Nov. 12, 1954, in Millinocket, the son of Carl H. and MaryRuth (Bouchard) Reed. Bill was married to his high school sweetheart, Rhonda (Boss) Reed on April 6, 1973. He always enjoyed his work, whether it be in the paper industry, where he spent 31 years, most recently at SAPPI in Skowhegan, or at his other enterprises. Bill was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He held various positions in many outdoor organizations including SAM, Penobscot River Corridor Council, and the Fin and Feather Club, of which he was past president and an Adrian Batson Award Winner. He loved the time he spent at his hunting camp. He was a caring, loyal friend to those who were fortunate enough to come into his life. He was known for his kindness, fairness, generosity and integrity. He was a loving husband and father, his favorite grandson will especially miss his wild super best grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Rhonda Reed of Winslow; his son, Steven Reed of New York; daughter and son-in-law, Billie-Gene and Don Lee; and their daughter, Trinity, of Mississippi; special grandson, Ryley O’Brien of Winslow; his mother, Maryruth Reed of Millinocket; a brother, Carl Reed of East Millinocket; a sister, Diane Reed of Millinocket; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, special in-laws, Lawrence “Red” and Marion Boss of East Millinocket. He was predeceased by his father, Carl H. Reed. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St, Millinocket, where services will be held at 3 p.m. with Pastor Herschel Hafford officiating.
