HAMPDEN – William J. Natalie Jr., 72, devoted husband of Florence (VanDolder) Natalie, died after a short illness on Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Ashlar of Newtown, Conn. He was born in Teaneck, N.J., son of the late William J. and Anne (Califora) Natalie. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in journalism. Mr. Natalie was vice president of personnel for MetLife and Irving Trust, and later worked as the personnel director for Community Health & Counseling in Bangor. He was named an Honorary Kentucky Colonel for the work that he did on behalf of the state of Kentucky, and served as a councilor at large for the town of Hampden. In addition to his loving wife of 41 years, Florence, he is survived by his two sons, Richard and his wife, Lorraine, of Fairfax, Va., and Thomas of New Milford; his daughter, Cathy Stueck and her husband, Arthur, of Brookfield; six grandchildren, Heather and Dana Natalie, Benjamin, Arthur “AJ,” Noelle and Samuel Stueck. He is also survived by a sister, Janet Petrini of Danbury, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at the Brookfield Funeral Home, with Pastor Buchanan of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church officiating.
