BANGOR – William T. “Bill” Houlihan, 83, died July 26, 2004, at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Bangor. He was born Jan. 17, 1921, in Bangor, the son of Joseph and Katherine (Sheehan) Houlihan. Bill was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Europe as a radar operator. He retired from the Bangor Apothecary as a pharmacist, with more than 50 years service to the Bangor community. He was a life long communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the Pine Cone Council No. 114 Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Mary Houlihan of Bangor; one son, William T. Houlihan Jr. of Boston, Mass.; two daughters, Mary Houlihan of California, and Mrs. Beth Kotredes and her husband, Arthur, of Bangor; one brother, Dr. John S. Houlihan of Bangor; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Kate, both of Bangor. He was predeceased by one brother, Monsignor Joseph E. Houlihan; two sisters, Catherine Houlihan, and Sister Elizabeth Houlihan. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard C. McLaughlin, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Maine Veterans Home, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401, in Bill’s memory.
