TROY – Wilmot L. Gray Jr., 89, died Feb. 26, 2007, at a Pittsfield health care facility. He was born June 14, 1917, in Troy, a son of Wilmot and Grace (Cunningham) Gray Sr. He graduated from Unity High School, Class of 1934, attended officer training school and served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II. Tom was a well-known area dairy farmer. He was a 60- year member of the Star in The West No. 85 AF & AM, a member of the Farm Bureau, the Seven Star Grange and the Benjamin Berry Post American Legion. He is survived by a son, Peter Gray; and a nephew, Robert and wife, Sheila Gray, all of Troy; as well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Beth (Stone) Gray in 1978. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, with the Rev. George Darling officiating.
