BANGOR and LEWISTON Winfield Lewis Stubbs, 72, formally of Bangor, passed away July 27, 2008, at a Lewiston nursing facility. He was born May 2, 1936, in Bangor, to Winfield Loud and Velma Tate Stubbs. Sonny was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows for much of his life and enjoyed going to all their state and local functions. He also enjoyed transporting his friends at the Bangor House to appointments and for errands. His smile and sense of humor will be missed. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Perry and Richard. He is survived by son, Lewis Stubbs and wife, Denise Simoneau, and their children, Aimee, Toni, Justin, Angie and Annemarie; daughter, Linda and husband, David Weston, and their children, Travis, Garrett and Shelby; son, Ben and wife, Kim, and their children, Brandon, Chloe and Sadie, all of Bangor; son, Bruce and wife, Debbie, of Colorado; stepsister, Dorothy Bickford of Newburgh; sister-in-law, Laura Stubbs of Wiscassset; many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all the caring staff at Odd Fellow and Rebekah Home, Auburn; and Central Maine Medical Center and Russell Park Manor, Lewiston. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Aug. 5, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Outer Ham-mond Street, Bangor.
