HOULTON – Winnifred ‘Winnie’ Alice (Pheeney) Victory, 90, peacefully passed away March 26, 2007, at Cummings Health Care Facility, Howland. Winnie was born Nov. 22, 1916, in London, the daughter of Charles and Alice Pheeney. Winnie grew up in Woodstock, New Brunswick. She married Gerald Victory in 1935 and they were married for 62 years. She was employed by J.J. Newberry Co., and the First National Bank of Houlton for many years. As a member of Rebekah Lodge, she had fond memories of her many friendships. In retirement, Winnie enjoyed her summers at Drews Lake and winters in Arizona, finding joy in the natural beauty and wildlife of the lake and deserts. Winnie is survived by four children, Geraldine Joslyn and her husband, Robert, of DeBary, Fla., Gale ‘Tony’ Victory and his wife, Donna, of Mesa, Ariz., Ronald Victory and his wife, Sandra, of Lowell and Sharon Victory of Pittston, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Brian Joslyn and his wife, Lauren, of San Bruno, Calif., Brenda Berk of New Britain, Conn., Pamela Joslyn of East Hampton, Conn., Bruce Victory and his wife, Donna, of Chandler, Ariz., Amy Silliboy and her husband, Richard, of Bear Creek, Pa., Alice Spencer and her husband, Jeffrey, of Derry, N.H., and Steven Victory of Portland; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Pheeney and his wife, Nina, of Jacksonville, New Brunswick, and James Pheeney of Chatham, New Brunswick; special relative and friend, Valla Hall of Brewer. Winnie was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Linda Marie; sister, Louise Viollette; and brother, Charles. A graveside memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. June 16, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. A service of Dunn Funeral Home.
