VERNON, Vt. – The Rev. Winslow W. Hall, 85, of 13 Greenway Drive, Vernon, Vt., died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at the Vernon Green, Vernon, Vt. He was born Jan. 7, 1921, in Caribou, the son of Joseph and Jane (Bidwell) Hall. The Rev. Hall was educated in Caribou and Portland schools. He then attended and graduated from Aurora College, Aurora, Ill. He then attended the Hartford Seminary in Connecticut. He did graduate work at the University of Maine – Orono. He was married to the former Charlotte Kelso, June 15, 1944, in Aurora, Ill. The Rev. Hall pastored churches in Granby, Mass.; Columbia, S.C.; Massena, N.Y.; Ashland, Swans Island and Bangor. He taught math in Calais and Mapleton, and had worked for the state of Maine in teaching DUI classes. He served for eight years as chaplain at the Vernon Hall, Vernon, Vt. He was an accomplished piano and organ player, and also loved woodworking and carpentry. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Sandra Lynne Nordstrom and her husband, Terry, of Woodland, Wash., and Cathleen Knox and her husband, Kenneth, of Pembroke; one sister, Eleanor May Porter and her husband, William, of Goleta, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Tyler Cemetery, Pond Road, Vernon, Vt., with the Rev. Bruce Burks, pastor of the Advent Christian Church, officiating.
