BELMONT – Wylie Frederick Patten 83, died Feb. 2, 2005, at a Belfast hos-pital. He was born in Lin-colnville, April 26, 1921, the son of Donald and Alice “Miller” Patten. Wylie was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He had been a farmer, gardener, and a master carpenter. His joy was his family, and he was an avid fisherman and cribbage player. He attended the Faith Bible Church in Searsmont and was a member of the VFW and the AMVETS. Wylie was predeceased by three brothers and one sister, Richard, Allen, Peter, and Marjorie Dunton. He is survived by his wife Madeline (Fuller) Patten of Belmont; his four children, Damon Patten of Knox, Mrs. Kenneth (Kathleen) Ryan of Belmont, Mrs. Robert (Diana) Ryan of Northport and Mrs. David (Amber) LaRochelle of Searsport. Wylie is also survived by 12 brothers and sisters; Norma Weirs of New York, Donald Patten Jr. of Northport, Shirlene Coombs of Hampden, Howard Patten of Camden, Roger Patten of Belfast, Wayne Patten of Lincolnville, John Patten of Northport, Keith Patten of Hope, Mona Mosher of New Hampshire, Sandra Worster of New Hampshire, Betty Opp of Nebraska, and Dwight Patten of Lincolnville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive him. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Faith Bible Baptist Church of Searsmont, with the Rev. Gary Soule officiating. Friends are invited to contribute to the American Heart Association, New England Affiliate Central Processing Center, 20 Speen St., Framingham, Mass. 01701-4688. Funeral arrangements are with the Rackliffe Funeral Home, 54 Church St., Belfast.
