BREWER – Zillah E. Witman, 88, of 951 Minot Ave., Auburn, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the Brewer Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 23, 1916, in Putnam, Conn., a daughter of Frank L. and Margaret Bone Evans. She graduated from Putnam High School and worked as a program director in harness racing. Mrs. Witman was married to George F. Witman. He died April 4, 2000. She was a member of the High Street Congregational Church and enjoyed knitting and sewing. She is survived by the family of Bill and Mary Ellen Therriault and their two sons, Tyler and Colby of Holden; her sister, Margaret and husband, Ronnie Brodeur, of Woodstock, Conn.; and her special friend, Barbara Swett of Hampden. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Fortin Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner St., Auburn. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Grove Street Cemetery in Putnam, Conn.
