BAILEYVILLE – Edith Arline Storey, 79, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at a Calais hospital with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Edith was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Baileyville, the daughter of the late Edward and Charlotte (Thibodeau) Dean. She was employed with Ware Knitters in Calais for more than 40 years as a supervisor. Edith was brought up in the Pentecostal faith, and enjoyed Beano and crocheting. She was predeceased by her husband, John Storey; two sisters, Evelyn Hanson and Elizabeth Eaton; a brother, James Dean; and a daughter-in-law, Ramona Storey. Surviving are her two sons, Jeffrey Storey and Buffi Bacon and her son, Brent Carlow, of Baileyville and James Storey of Baileyville; three brothers, William Dean and his wife, Charlotte, of Calais, Lawrence Dean and his wife, Charlotte, and Everett Dean and his wife, Beverly, both of Baileyville; two sisters, Madeline Perkins and her husband, Leo, of Baileyville and Barbara Flood and her husband, Bernard, of Alexander; three grandchildren, Paul, Sean, and John Storey, all of Baileyville; three stepgrandchildren, Sarah, Brian, and Paul; a great-stepgrandchild, Shalee; a special friend, Arlene McLaughlin; a special niece, Gladys McCray; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville.
