WOODLAND – Rhoda L. (Wark) Atcheson, 77, died Sept. 26, 2008, at her residence, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born Dec. 8, 1930, on her family’s farm, Thibodeau Road, Woodland. Rhoda was the youngest and last surviving of eight children born to Rhoda L. (Wright) and William J. Wark. Throughout the years she regularly participated in the organizing of her class reunions. Rhoda was a longtime member of Caribou United Baptist Church. Until her marriage, she worked as a secretary at the Federal and State Inspection Service. On Oct. 13, 1953, she married Kenneth W. Atcheson of Patterson, Iowa. She and her husband farmed in Osceola, Iowa, and Woodland for more than 50 years. Rhoda took great pride in being a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt to her family, who so cherished her.
