MILBRIDGE – Hazel C. (Burke) Fraccola, 89, died Oct. 3, 2008, at her home. She was born June 30, 1919, in Milbridge, the daughter of Henry F. and Eunice M. (Tracy) Burke. Hazel lived most of her life in Milbridge. She married Charles Fraccola of Cranston, R.I., in 1942, and lived there several years, returning to Milbridge in 1979, after she retired. She had been an active member of the Milbridge Thursday Club and enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by two sisters, Marguerite Donnel of Franklin and Bessie Martin of Sullivan; three sisters-in-law, Eva Felella and Etta Testa, both of Cranston, R.I., and Marion Sue Burke of Machias; two special nieces, Judy Beals of Holden and Fadelma Babcock, of Florida and Milbridge; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Hortense Hutchins of Milbridge. Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Charles Fraccola; two brothers, Henry and Merrill “Jack” Burke; and sisters, Leola Burke, Beatrice Turner, Zelma “Sonnie” Mitchell, Gertrude Whicher and Hilda Quinn. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Evergreen Cemetery, Milbridge, with Pastor Ambrose Rolfe officiating.
