VICTOR A. CURCIO – NEWELL, Pa. – Victor A. Curcio, 70, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at his residence. Born Dec. 11, 1937, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Victor Curcio Sr. and Bertha Tretinik Curcio. A lifelong resident of Newell, Pa., he graduated from Brownsville High School and attended the University of Maine. Mr. Curcio served in the U.S. Air Force from June 1961 to April 1964, at Dow Air Force Base, with the 71st Air Refueling Squadron, as an airman first class. He was a member of St. Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, Pa., where he served as an usher for more than 40 years. Mr. Curcio was a special deputy sheriff of Fayette County, a Pennsylvania State Constable, and a member of Belle Vernon American Legion and of the former Moose Lodge, Newell, Pa. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Cormier Curcio; children, Vicki and Sohail Rashid of Burke, Va., Chris and Trina Curcio of Perryopolis, Pa., and Nick and Michele Curcio of Belle Vernon, Pa.; four grandchildren, Alexandra, Abigail and Zachary Rashid, and Emi Curcio; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Rondell Curcio of Newell, Pa. Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, Pa. Parish rosary will be recited 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by parishioner’s of St. Sebastian’s Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, Pa. Prayers will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a funeral Mass 11:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian’s. Entombment will be afterward at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
