BENNINGTON, N.H. – Lucien J. Lizotte, 55, died Oct. 20, 2008, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 27, 1953, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, son of Ned and Germaine (Bosse) Lizotte. He was a 1971 graduate of Madawaska High School where he was a member of the cross-country, track and field teams. During high school years, he worked with his father as a painting contractor. He was formerly employed with Madawaska Recreation Department where he coached youth hockey and baseball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and snowmobiling with family and friends. Lucien had been a resident of Bennington, N.H., for the past 23 years and had been employed with American Steel Fabricators, Greenfield, N.H., for the past 15 years. In addition to his mother of Madawaska, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mae (Raymond) Lizotte; his daughter, Heather M. Lizotte, both of Bennington, N.H.; three brothers, Jacques R. Lizotte and wife, Jocelyn, Yves J. Lizotte and wife, Sandra, all of Madawaska, and Guy N. Lizotte and wife, Tammy, of Van Buren; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River St., Route 202 South, Jaffrey, N.H., where a memorial service will begin 8 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald Belanger of Devine Mercy Parish, officiating. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated later in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska.
