BUCKSPORT and SEBEC VILLAGE – The Rev. Theodore Stinson, went home to be with his Lord, Oct. 27, 2008, at his home, after having a battle with cancer; he fought the good fight. He was born April 22, 1929, in Stonington. He worked 33 years as a nurse at Eastern Maine Medical Center and pioneered a church, which he also pastured for 34 years. He leaves his wife of 23 years, Gloria (Nason) Stinson; nine children, Barbara Fish of Newport, John Fish of Newport, James Stinson and wife, Tina, of Ellsworth, Leonard Stinson and wife, Cheryl, of Hermon, Robert Stinson and wife, Julia, of Orono, Gene Stinson and Sharon of Brewer, Florence Berry and husband, David, of Ellsworth, Brenda Jackson and husband, Richard, of Newport, and Donald Stinson and wife, Shirley, of Woodbury, Conn.; three sisters-in-law, Helgh, Elsie and Ruth; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Phyllis Hendricks. Family and friends will gather for visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Blue Hill Pentecostal Assembly, Route 15, Blue Hill. Burial will be after the service at Sebec Village Cemetery Sebec. After the burial, a gathering will be held at Sebec Village Reading Room. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted’s memory may be made to the family, care of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, P.O. Box A, Bucksport, ME 04416.
