MARGARET E. BONIS

MILLINOCKET – Margaret E. Bonis, 91, wife of the late Stanley J. Bonis, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at a Millinocket health care facility. She was born June 13, 1917, in Millinocket, the daughter of Edward and Jessie (Cox) DeCourcy. Margaret enjoyed camp, church, spending time with her many dear friends, traveling and card games. Family was very important to Margaret. Her siblings were very important to Margaret and always a source of great pride. She enjoyed holidays and family gatherings, and cooking a special meal or dessert. Margaret became a special aunt to many of her nieces and nephews, including her great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, many of whom had their turn at being her favorite. Being her favorite meant a special outing, trips to the store, rides in her car, meals out or other treats, and she is lovingly remembered by her favorites for these special times. Margaret is the last member of her generation in her family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, George, Edward, Vincent, Thomas and Bernard DeCourcy; and four sisters, Mary DeCourcy, Sister Theresa DeCourcy, Jessie DeCourcy-Mumma and Alice DeCourcy. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and cousins. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket. Gifts in memory of Margaret may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
