MAPLETON – Richard L. Currier, 67, died early Wednesday morning, Nov. 5, 2008, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Caribou. He was born June 1, 1941, in Presque Isle, the son of Linwood H. and Cora M. (Stoddard) Currier. He graduated from Mapleton High School in 1959 and served in the U.S. Army, 1963-1965. Richard worked as a custodian and bus driver for SAD 1 for 40 years. He was a former member of Washburn Lodge No. 193 AF & AM. He is survived by a brother, Charles H. Currier II and his wife, Anita, of Mapleton; an aunt, Alberta McNeal of Eagle Lake; a nephew, Charles H. Currier III of Mapleton; four nieces, Andrea Green and Mary Dahlgren, both of Alabama, Lauri Kelly of Easton and Christa Galipeau of Presque Isle; several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Maine Veterans’ Home, Caribou, for their care and concern for Richard and his family. A special gratitude to Ruth Collins of Visiting Nurses of Aroostook for going above and beyond the call of duty. A private graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 10, with the Rev.
