CARIBOU – Floyd Preston Tracy Sr., 63, died Nov. 9, 2008, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 6, 1954, in Caribou, son of Elmer and Hilda (Miller) Tracy Sr. Floyd was a 1963 graduate of Caribou High School and attended Fort Kent State Teachers College. Floyd was a member of Caribou Assembly of God. He served with the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a former member of Henry B. Pratt Post No. 15 American Legion. Mr. Tracy was a retired deputy sheriff, serving with Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department for more than 20 years. He married Pam Welch, Oct. 4, 1980. Surviving in addition to his wife, Pam, of Caribou, are a son and daughter-in-law, F. Preston and Crissy Tracy Jr. of Woodland; a daughter, Jennifer Violette of Caribou; one brother, Elmer Tracy of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Zakkary, Mackenzie and Brynna Belle Tracy, and Ashley and Jace Violette; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 11:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services 1 p.m. at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with the Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be at the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou.
