VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Minnie Lee (Adams) Ashworth, 47, beloved daughter of Harvard M. Adams of Levant and Bonita M. Bacharach of Veazie and Baileyville, passed away Oct. 29, 2008, in Virginia Beach, Va., after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 11, 1961. Minnie was a graduate of Hermon High School and Tidewater School of Nursing. Although she was a registered nurse, her true passion was to coach cheering because of her love of children. She opened two gyms and coached numerous teams to regional, state and national championships. Due to her devotion and love of children, she inspired many to attend college and was instrumental in helping them acquire scholarships. Minnie is survived by her parents; her loving husband, Tracy; seven daughters, Charity, Amy, Megan, Kelly, Mercedes, Skylar and Shelby; four granddaughters, Kayla, Samantha, Mia and Zoey; brothers, Harvard Jr. and his wife, Susan, of St. Rose, La., and Mark and his wife, Heather, and their four children of Boxford, Mass.; sisters, Angel and her husband, Devon, and their four children of Pembroke and Weisbaden, Germany, and Theresa Weiner and her husband, David, and their two children of Commack, N.Y.; grandparents, Madeline and Carl Oase of Connecticut; aunt, Melissa DeFero of Connecticut; and uncle, Charles R. Adams Sr. of Dedham. She was predeceased by an infant brother, John; and grandmother, Frances D. Adams of Orrington.
