LIMESTONE – Russell Gagnon, 74, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Caribou. He was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Van Buren, the son of Norman and Cecille (LeVasseur) Gagnon Sr. Russell served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a medic. He worked for many years at the N.C.O. Club as the maintenance foreman and also had his own business installing flooring. He was a communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church, as well as a member of Knights of Columbus. He is survived by a son, Russell Gagnon Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; nine siblings, Rachel Dube and her husband, Romeo, of Dover, N.H., James Gagnon and his wife, Judy, of Lynn, Mass., Phyllis Wright and her husband, Malcolm, of Bristol, Conn., John R. Gagnon and his special companion, Louisette, of Limestone, Joyce Gagnon of Unionville, Conn., Michael Gagnon of Albuquerque, N.M., Mary Ogle and her husband, Bill, of Berwick, Stephen Gagnon and his wife, Susan, and Peter Gagnon and his wife, Sandy, of Berwick. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Farren Lee and Raven Lynn; two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Kayden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Henrietta (Butler) Gagnon; a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Arline Gagnon Jr.; and a brother, Donald Gagnon. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. A time of refreshments will be held after the service in the church fellowship hall. Those who wish may make donations in Russell’s name to the St. Louis Catholic Church Building Fund.
