SEDGWICK – Phillip M. Eaton, 61, died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at his home. He was born May 30, 1947, in Castine, son of the late Horace and Elnora F. (Gove) Eaton. Phil loved to lobster, dig clams and mostly make wreathes. He also loved his family and friends. If there was anyone in need of a helping hand, he was always there when asked. Also, there was a special little boy who really got to his heart, his name was Cody. He really enjoyed this young boy. Family members include four siblings, Carly Eaton and companion, Helen Austin, of Brooksville, Henry Eaton and wife, Karmell, of Sedwick, Melvin Eaton of Deer Isle, and Theresa Gove and fiance, Cory, of Stonington; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five siblings, Mary Eaton, Wiley Eaton, Judy (Eaton) McIntire, Evelyn Eaton and Edwin Eaton; and a special nephew, Alfred Clough, in 2006. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Odd Fellows Hall, Stonington. Burial will be after at Howards Hill Cemetery, Little Deer Isle.
