PRESQUE ISLE – Sheila P. Metrick-Carson, 53, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 26, 2008, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 10, 1955, in Presque Isle, daughter of Si-mon and Pearl (Clair) Metrick. Sheila worked at Cooperative Extension Service. She loved her cats, and loved children. She was greatly loved by her family, and they will truly miss her. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Heidi Manter and her husband, Shawn, of Caribou; two sisters, Sandra Henderson and her husband, Richard, of Presque Isle and Sharon Jensen of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kayla, Kameron and Kerrigan Manter; five nieces, Lisa Moran, Lauri Moran, Lynnae Davis, Kelly Garrison and her husband, Aaron, and Kim Allen and her husband, Chris; eight great-nieces and great-nephews, Nicholas and Nashali Parks, Mattea Davis, Joseph, Christen and Mason Allen, Noah and Laura Garrison; a special friend, Sue Delano of Presque Isle; many friends; and her kitty cat, Asia. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating.
