CARMEL – Myron E. Goodell, 82, husband of Corinne (Jones) Goodell, went home to be with his Lord Nov. 28, 2008, while at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born June 22, 1926, in Hermon, the son of Myron F. and Alice (Powers) Goodell. Bud was a combat veteran of World War II and served in the military for 27 years, retiring as a specialist first class in the U.S. Army. Bud was a kind and caring Christian man, and a member and deacon of West Hampden Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Corinne of Carmel; three children and their spouses, Colleen and Warren Hall of Greer, S.C., Terrie and Roy Callan of Muncie, Ind., and Timothy and Allison Goodell of Carmel; a sister, Mildred McGlinchey of Hampden; eight grandchildren, Sean, Juanita, Stephen, Clayton, Wesley, Nadine, Everett and Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Harrison and Savannah; nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at West Hampden Baptist Church, 574 Western Ave., Hampden, with Pastor Charles G. Farley officiating. Visiting hours will be 1 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at Ruggles Cemetery, Carmel. In keeping with Bud’s interest in missions, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Hampden Baptist Church, for a mission trip fund, P.O. Box 398, Hampden, ME 04444.
