RANDOLPH – Richard “Dick” A. Hamilton Sr., 75, of Ridge Road, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. He was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Sangerville, a son of Clifton and Mary Wakem Hamilton. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War with 22 years of service, retiring as a master gunnery sergeant. He had been employed at the U.S. Postal Service, State of Maine Department of Fish and Wildlife, Aroostook County Sheriff Department and Northern Woods Co., Ashland. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Joan Pelletier Hamilton; a son, Richard Hamilton Jr.; three brothers, Barry, Robert and Phil; and a sister, Mary Lou. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Joana Rossignol Hamilton of Randolph; 10 stepchildren, David Hebert and wife, Chris, of Fort Fairfield, Ruth Warren and husband, George, of Standish, Donna Perreault and husband, Corey, of Buxton, Tina Williams and husband, Robert, of Holden, Janice Anderson and husband, Kevin, of Fort Kent, Mariya Gooding and husband, Scott, of Litchfield, Connie Evans and husband, David, of Brewer, Steven Hebert and wife, Shayna, of Fort Kent, Gail Deschaine and husband, Travis, of Buxton and Jason Hebert and fianc?e, Kristen, of Old Orchard; a daughter-in-law, Lorie Hamilton of Caribou; seven brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Misty Weston, Dana Hamilton, Nichole Hamilton and Staci Hamilton; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. At Dick’s request, there will be no services. Burial with military honors will be held in the spring at Eagle Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
