BANGOR and LINCOLN Marguerite Drake Thornton passed away Nov. 30, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. She passed peacefully, with her daughter, son-in-law and the caring staff at Westgate Manor by her side. She was born June 3, 1920, in Prentiss, the eldest child of Madge and Nat Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Clifton Drake; her second husband, Wayne Thornton; and a brother, Sterling Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Emery and husband, Jim; son, Lyle Drake and wife, Cheryl; sisters, Pauline Drake, Marie Irish, Beryl Downs and Gloria Beckland; brother, Fernald Thompson; grandchildren, Kevin Emery, Keith Emery, Brent Drake and Samantha Feeney; and 12 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cole Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 170 U.S. Route 1, Falmouth, ME 04105.
